State governments advocate general C V Mohan Reddy, a known loyalist of Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, resigned from his post suddenly.
One wonders what made Mohan Reddy resign. According to CMO sources, Mohan Reddy was summoned by YSR to the camp office and asked to put in his papers. Apparently, the Chief Minister was not happy with the Advocate General, who bungled in arguing the State governments case in Polavaram and Babhli cases. Mohan Reddy was also behaving rudely with Irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, taking advantage of his proximity with YSR. Following several complaints against him, YSR chose to shift him, sources said.
Indications are that YSR might bring in a Brahmin advocate S A Prasad as the next AG or he might go in for another Reddy candidate like S Ashok Reddy.
