Even as the Telangana Joint Action Committee is gearing up for the much-feared Telangana March on September 30, the leaders in the Congress high command are gradually coming out with their thinking on the Telangana issue.
AICC in-charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday made it clear that there was no question of making any statement on Telangana, unless there was a consensus among all the three regions.
“It is the most complex issue. Without the acceptance of the people of all the three regions, there is no possibility of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh,” Azad told the national media in Srinagar.
He pointed out that the formation of three states – Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Uttarakhand – could take place smoothly, because there was no opposition from the people of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
“Such a situation is not there in Andhra Pradesh. So, the consultation process with political parties will continue till a consensus is achieved on Telangana state formation,” Azad said.
Well, let the Congress make the statement officially. Then, the people of Telangana will decide what to do next.
