Once bitten, twice shy Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has remained silent on election of Nadendla Manohar as deputy speaker of the assembly.
Apparently, the TDP president has felt the sting in the Speakers election episode. The way the TDP behaved in the assembly over election of Kiran Kumar Reddy as speaker received a lot of criticism from all quarters. Even several TDP leaders themselves openly found fault with Naidus decision to oppose Kiran.
So, Naidu decided to keep mum on the election of deputy speaker. Though initially, Naidu wanted to demand that the deputy speaker post be given to the TDP, as was done in Lok Sabha, he changed his mind later fearing criticism. And Nadendla, thus, became the unanimous choice!
