YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Friday received a rude jolt, when the party’s Kurnool district in-charge Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy deserted the party and joined the Telugu Desam Party in the presence of N Chandrababu Naidu.
Chakrapani is the brother of former housing minister Shilpa Mohan Reddy, who ruled the roost in the Kurnool Congress party during Y S Rajasekhara Reddy regime. While Mohan Reddy remained in the Congress party, Chakrapani joined YSR Congress party and even became its Kurnool unit chief. Both Shilpa brothers have been into real estate and marble business and made it big within no time during the YSR regime.
One does not know what exactly happened to Chakrapani in YSR Congress, but he told the media that he was not happy with the way things were going on in Jagan camp. Naidu reportedly promised to give him party ticket from Srisailam assembly constituency.
