The Telangana Congress MPs have taken serious note of the warnings given by Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy that stringent action would be taken against those participating in the rail-roko agitation.
Congress MPs K Kesava Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the DGP of provoking the Telangana people by making threats.
“It is not proper for the responsible persons in the government to terrorise the people with such statements. The Telangana agitation is not against the Constitution of India,” they said.
It is for the first time that the Congress leaders are directly participating in the “Sakala Janula Samme”, thereby raising a banner of revolt against the party high command.
“We will participate in the rail roko agitation along with thousands of our supporters in our respective constituencies. Let the police stop us, if they can. But we will not go back,” the Congress MPs said.
