The jubilation of Chief Minister K Rosaiah over election of CLP leadervhas evaporated within a week with the outburst of the Telangana agitation.
As the situation turned grave and the movement went into the hands of students, the Rosaiah government has become completely helpless. The brutal police lathi-charge on students on Monday last has turned the situation into worse, incurring the wrath of the Human Rights Commission and now, the government is absolutely not in a position to use police forces against agitating students, even when they are attacking the properties of Andhraites and settlers.
On the other hand, the worsening of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Raos health condition has brought further headache to Rosaiah. He held several meetings with his ministers, but is in vain. They are trying to create an impression among the Congress high command that the situation would have been handled well, had Y S Jaganmohan Reddy be made the chief minister. Rosaiah is now looking up to the high command to suggest a solution.
