For a change, Congress MP from Vijayawada is strongly lobbying for lifting of cases filed against students of Osmania University during the Telangana agitation early this year.
Lagadapati on Sunday wrote a letter to chief minister K Rosaiah requesting that all the cases filed against the students who participated in Telangana agitation be lifted unconditionally. He also wanted that the cases filed against Seemandhra students also be lifted simultaneously. When there is an emotional upsurge, there is bound to be some violence from the students side. The government should consider them on humanitarian grounds and lift the cases, he suggested.
The Congress MP said the contradictory statements being given by Home Minister P Sabita Indra Reddy and Director General of Police K Aravinda Rao were creating confusion among the students and they are worried about their future. The government should come out with a clarity in this regard and lift the cases without any exceptions, he said.
Perhaps, there seems to be a change in Lagadapati after his latest love-chatting with Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao.
