Even as the tragic helicopter crash involving former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy is still fresh in the minds of the people, it was the turn of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to taste the September effect on Thursday.
The Chief Minister left for his West Godavari tour in the morning from Hyderabad in a regular flight. He was to land at Madhurapudi airport at Rajahmundry at around 10 am. However, the flight was caught in heavy clouds as it approached the airport, as a result of which the flight had to make several rounds in the air for nearly 45 minutes, much to the concern of Kiran Kumar Reddy and 64 others on board.
At one stage, the pilot thought of taking the flight back and land in Gannavaram airport, as there was no ground clearance at the Rajahmundry airport.
However, after a lot of struggle, the pilot could finally get the clearance and the flight landed safely at Rajahmundry. For the Chief Minister, it must have definitely been a nightmarish experience!
