Telangana government is thinking on the lines of banning the use of air conditioners in all the government offices to fight the increasingly threatening power storage in the state. The government is also planning to make changes to the office timings so as to conserve energy. State offices now may operate from 8 AM to 2 PM with out lunch break. All the government offices will also be instructed against unnecessary use of tube lights and will urged to use natural sunlight as much as possible.
The government is also planning a massive publicity campaign with the call ‘saving energy is producing energy’ to enlighten every citizen and making energy conservation a social responsibility. The government has planned a slew of energy saving measures and will take a decision when the Chief Minister comes back to the state from his Delhi trip. It is known that the state is reeling under heavy pressure to meet the heavy demand of domestic, agricultural and industrial use. The Chief Minister himself is saying that nothing could be done to better the situation over the next 3 years.
