Senior Congress leader and MLC Palvai Govardhan on Sunday alleged that Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was luring the party MLAs into his fold by offering them huge money.
If some of the partys leaders are openly siding with Jaganmohan Reddy, it is not out of their personal affection for him but due to the lure of money, he said. It is learnt that each MLA was offered Rs 10 crore, if he sided with Jagan and the latter had also assured them that he would protect their interests. He alleged that the massive support visible during the Odarpu Yatra in Srikakulam was stage-managed. He is paying people to greet him during the Yatra; his supporters are ferrying people to the route taken by the MP and paying them. Only about 10-15 per cent of those people taking part in the Odarpu Yatra are coming on their own while the rest are being transported after being paid, he said, and accused Jagan of tarnishing the image of the Congress by defying the directives of the party high command.
He said that the young MLAs are under observation for his actions and will have to face the consequences of his actions sooner or later
