Having lost hopes of being renominated to the Rajya Sabha for another term, the Telangana Congress leader K Kesava Rao is making behind-the-scene efforts to cosy up to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
KK is believed to have opened a direct channel with the TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and started lobbying for Zaheerabad Lok Sabha seat in the 2014 elections in the event of his crossing over to the TRS.
The Congress high command is cut up with KK for over-the-top public utterances on Telangana issue. The MP has not only been actively participating in the statehood agitation but also making provocative statements which often amounted to rubbing the central leadership on the wrong side.
KK’s strategy to enhance his political stature in Delhi by taking the lead on Telangana issue has actually boomeranged on him. He is presently maintaining a low profile and avoiding the media glare.
He is reportedly getting ready to vacate his MP quarters in Delhi as his Rajya Sabha term will end in April next year. There are clear indications by now that he will not get a second term.
