Chief Minister K Rosaiah was under tremendous pressure from the ministers of Andhra and Rayalaseema to resign from the chief minister post in support of the united Andhra movement.
As many as 23 minsiters, who held a secret meeting at Taj Deccan in the afternoon submitted their resignations and also wanted Rosaiah to resign. It is time all the public representatives from Andhra and Rayalaseema to be united and put up a strong fight for Samaikyandhra.
This does not amount to defying the high command but is only to bring pressure on it to announce the united state, Municipal administration minister Ramnaryana Reddy said.
There was a talk in the morning that Rosaiah might meet Govenor N D Tiwari in the evening to submit his resignation to overcome the crisis, but he ruled it out later. Instead, he said he would persuade the ministers to withdraw their resignations.
