And there is already a hectic lobbying going on in New Delhi for the coveted post.
While Bapiraju is desperately trying to get an extension for at least one year, several other bigwigs are making their own efforts to get into the post. However, the high command is learnt to have received complaints from several Congress leaders including Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy about Bapiraju’s connections with K V P Ramachandra Rao.
According to reports from New Delhi, Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi is making silent lobbying to get the top TTD post for his brother-in-law Allu Aravind. He had already met Madam Sonia Gandhi and made the request.
On the other hand, another Rajya Sabha MP T Subbarami Reddy is also making all out efforts to get back into the TTD chairman post for a second time. In case, the high command rejects his request, he wants the post to be given to at least his wife Indira. He is using the good offices of the industrial lobby to prevail upon the high command.
At the same time, Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao is also trying hard for the post. He made several attempts in the past, but could not succeed in it. Similarly, former MP D K Audikesavulu Naidu has also thrown his hat into the ring, sources said.
