Panchayat Raj Minister Botsa Satyanarayana’s statement in support of Telangana separation continued to foment protests across the Seemandhra region.

With Botsa sticking to his guns on his statement, the Seemandhraleaders from Telugu Desam Party demanded that the minister should be declared as a “betrayer” of Samaikyandhra cause. “He is like a Brutus for Julius Caesar, back-stabbing the Congress party in the Seemandhra region. The party would be finished in the region for supporting the Telangana demand,” former TDP minister Kodela Sivaprasada Rao said.

The Students Joint Action Committee in Andhra Univeristy also declared Botsa as a betrayer. The students wondered whether Botsa had lost his mental balance as he suddenly changed his pro-Samaikyandhra stand and supported Telangana. They submitted a memorandum to Visakhapatnam mental hospital seeking admission to the minister for treatment.
